Our good friends Kope and Kristin recently moved to Beijing - I know they would be more than happy to host you in the high-rent dump that they live in if you're heading that way. Kristin is mechanical engineer and actually Chinese - she is lovely and will be more than happy to help you with the ins and outs of Chinese travel. Kope is also an engineer, project manager - he's half-Thai / half-Chinese and grew up in south Texas - and makes the best cajun food ever (ask for the ribs!). I would LOVE to meet you there, let me know your plans.
